Princess Theatre and Gardens

Princess Theatre has been open for over 50 years, offering something for everyone. Over the last few years, such shows as Chicago, The Rocky Horror Show, Starlight Express and Calendar Girls.

The first ever performance was back on Wednesday, 7th June 1961. Topping the bill was the late, great Tommy Cooper and the ever-popular Morecambe & Wise.

There is a licensed bar in the theatre where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail looking out at the beautiful panorama as you wait for the performance to start!

Tickets are available from the Visitor Centre in Torquay or at the booking office outside the entrance to the theatre.

Princess Gardens take their name from Princess Louise, the Princess Royal and fourth daughter of Queen Victoria, whom back in May 1890, laid the foundation stone for the ‘pleasure ground’. The gardens are overlooked by Rock Walk (or the Royal Terrace Gardens) with the Edwardian Pavilion, waiting to be explored at one end with the Theatre nestled in the middle.

Princess Gardens offer a relaxing wander along the promenade boasting well-tended flowerbeds, palm trees and a beautiful ornate water fountain.
