Do you take children?
We have always been a adult orientated hotel, however as of 2023, we are now an adults only hotel, so only accept those 16 or older.
If you require a room for three adults, please contact us by telephone.
I’ve left something behind at the Hotel.
If you leave something behind after checking out, we can post it back to you. There is a flat rate charge of £10 to post back your goods weighing less than 2kg. Alternatively we will keep your possessions for 1 month before disposing of them. You can always pick anything up left with us, but please arrange a day to collect.
What time is the Restaurant open?
Our restaurant is open for breakfast from 8:30am (8am in the Summer) to 9:30am, and for dinner 6:45pm to 8:oopm.
If you have booked b&b, please advise us if you would like to dine. You can view our new menu which changes daily, on the piano in the lounge from 1pm onwards.
How many rooms do you have?
We have 25 bedrooms in total, and we are able to accommodate a maximum of 56 people in a mixture of single, double, twin and family rooms.
What time is check-in & check out?
You can check into the hotel from 2pm, and the latest checkout is up until 10:30am.
If you have you arrived with us early, you can park your car in the car park from 11:30am, on the day of arrival. We ask that this is the earliest you park up so that other guests have sufficient time to depart from us.
Is there free parking?
Yes, we have our own free private car park on the hotel grounds, which has 18 spaces. In the event that our car park is full, you may park outside opposite where there is free parking on the road.
Do the rooms have hair dryers?
Yes, all bedrooms of the hotel are equipped with small travel hair dryers.
Are non residents welcome ?
Of course, our bar is open all day and is great for a refreshment in the garden after a day on Torquay s Meadfoot beach. We also serve light snacks from 12pm to 2:30pm. Please notify us in advance if you wish to book a table in our restaurant for dinner.
How long does it take to walk into town?
Its approximately 15 minute walk to the Town Centre from the hotel. ( 0.6 mile )
Do you take dogs?
We would be able to accommodate guests with guide dogs, however please advise us by telephone when placing a reservation on 01803 293 381. We don't usually take dogs unless the whole hotel is booked out by a single group or party, and one of their guests would like to bring a dog, but this is at our discretion. There would also be an charge of £10 per night.
Can you cater for specific dietary requirements?
Of course, all we require is notification when you make your reservation with us. Our experienced chef's can cater for every aspect of any dietary requirement you have. Please also notify our waiting staff when you order in the restaurant, on so your table number can be noted, and relayed to our team in the kitchen.
Is there free wifi ?
In 2023, we installed superfast 1gbp fibre (1000mbps) internet to the premises. So you should realistically be able to get around 50-350mbps in the rooms using the Wi-Fi, but this is dependent on your device.
The fastest speeds are in the lounge and bar area. You can also receive WiFi on the outside terrace.
Is there a lift in the hotel?
We do not have a lift in the hotel, although the hotel is situated only on two floors. Please specify if you would like a room on the lower level. We have one ground floor room.
Do you have a ground floor room?
Yes, we have one ground floor room, its's one of the larger premium rooms with a super-kingsize bed and double walk in shower.
The room is suited for those with limited mobility, but unfortunately is not fully accessible, so is unsuitable for those that require wheelchair access.
How far is it to the Beach?
Meadfoot Beach is literally on our doorstep (100m), a few minutes walk to your right out of the hotel, and you can be on the beach. There is also a small café and seating, with incredible views out towards thatcher rock.
Torre abbey sands is approximately 30 minute walk from the hotel, or about 10 minutes walk from Torquay town harbour.
