Torquay is a walkers paradise, which means if you and your partner want to set off on foot and explore the local area, there are many options for you to do so. In fact, one of the best walking paths in Torquay is located right outside the Hotel Balmoral.
Starting next to the beautiful and secluded Meadfoot beach, your trek will take you towards Thatchers Point and Ansteys Cove, both great places to spend a couple of hours.
It’s then possible to take a casual stroll onto Babbacombe beach, where you can enjoy a romantic meal or a few drinks, before heading on back to The Hotel Balmoral under the moonlight. Valentines breaks don’t get any better than that!
Meadfoot beach
As mentioned earlier, Meadfoot beach is right outside the hotel, and when the weather is right (we enjoy a very mild February with many days of sunshine), it is an excellent place to spend some time with that special someone just watching the boats pass by and taking in the coastal scenery.
You will be pleased to hear that Meadfoot beach has recently been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, making it one of the cleanest, safest, and most pleasant beaches in the UK.
Torquay promenade
A popular location for couples is Torquay promenade, with its palm trees and relaxed atmosphere it feels more like a European city such as Paris or Venice than an English seaside resort.
Enjoy a quiet afternoon strolling around and doing some window shopping, before settling down for a few drinks looking out towards the illuminated bridge. It is days like this that will give you a valentines break to remember for many years to come.
