With so many hotels and bed and breakfast establishments in Torquay we understand its not easy trying to find a hotel that ticks all the right boxes and just feels like the the perfect fit. It really can be frustrating trying to decide which is the best place to stay in Torquay.

It can be hours or days searching on the internet looking at maps and scrolling through what seems like endless reviews of hotels.

Well your search may now be drawing to a close as you  begin to discover why we are among one of the top hotels in Torquay.

It all starts with the location of the hotel. Based in unique Devonshire surroundings, it’s the perfect place to simply relax and unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

Situated in the peaceful area of Meadfoot, Torquay, you can enjoy the stunning views of Meadfoot sea right from our beautiful landscaped garden area. By the way, this is a perfect place for spending a lazy afternoon, maybe reading a book while hearing the waves gently crashing below.

If you are looking for something a bit more adventurous then our hotel in Torquay is the perfect base to start your adventure. You can easily begin exploring all the English Riviera has to offer, by setting foot on one of the many coastal walking paths that are accessible right outside the hotel.

You will be pleased to hear that Torquay town centre is only a short distance away from The Hotel Balmoral, which means you are right at the heart of various activities and attractions, while still having the benefit of a peaceful location. The perfect combination for people who want the best of both worlds.

Why not spend some time on the award winning Meadfoot beach? If you’re an early bird, then a morning walk by the sea to inhale the clean and fresh air is a great way to start the day. Or maybe you would prefer a stroll under the moonlight in the evening. The choice is yours.

Whether you’re looking for a short weekend break or a longer stay, you can enjoy the delights of The Hotel Balmoral all year round.

Tantalise your taste beds with fine English cuisine with a Continental twist, prepared by our expert Chef and award winning fisherman “Sean Coulson” . You can be rest assured that all our food is fresh, sourced from the local area where possible and fresh from Brixham …direct to your plate as quickly as possible. With this in mind, it’s no wonder that one of our customers recently wrote:

“I’ve never had a bad meal in the seven years I’ve been going.”

We offer a variety of rooms to suit every taste and requirement. There is a selection of standard rooms, premium rooms and views overlooking the garden to the sea. All bedrooms feature en-suite bathrooms, where you will find both shower and bath facilities. Comfortable, clean and cosy…your home away from home.

Here at The Hotel Balmoral, we want your visit to feel like staying with family. We have a small and friendly team of staff who will stop at nothing to make sure your stay in Torquay is one to remember.

We pride ourself in giving a personal touch to all of our guests, which is why people keep coming back year after year. Our main aim is to provide a warm and relaxed atmosphere, while offering first class service, and of course, great value for money.

I book our group in twice each year, and have been doing so for several years….spring and autumn/winter…..normally filling The Balmoral to capacity. We have never had cause to be disappointed. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the food is excellent, and the facilities are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
We usually organise a lot of our own activities during the day, which we conduct in and out of the hotel without problem. Alex, Steve, and the rest of the staff are always willing to fit in with any requests we might have regarding use of the lounge, etc. we do feel it is home from home, and ideal for our ‘house party’!
The hotel is close enough to Torquay if you want shops and for all the buzz of a seaside town, but far enough away to be in a quiet position not far from Meadfoot Beach. A lovely area!
We hope to keep returning to this gem of a hotel for many years to come.
    Well done guys!
